Apply
Tell us about yourself and your babysitting experience, add a photo, and set your rate, how far you'll travel and the hours you're usually free. References are optional. Under 18? Name a parent or guardian and we'll email them a link to confirm.
Step 2
Get approved
Every application is approved before it goes live - it's how we keep things sane for the families using it. Once you're approved and your payouts are connected, you appear in search for families near you, and you get your own booking link and QR code straight away.
Step 3
Requests come to you
Families search by date and only see sitters who are genuinely free for the whole slot and cover their postcode. A request shows you the times, the area, the children's ages, what you'd earn and the family's record - message first if you like, then accept with a tap or say no thanks with one.
Step 4
Sit, then get paid
The moment you accept you get the full brief - address, contact details, the children's names and notes. Tap Start when you arrive and End when you leave, and you're paid for every minute between, at your rate, plus any tip in full. The money goes to your bank through Stripe once the family pays.

Parents see it before they book, and we freeze it onto every booking you accept - no doorstep negotiations, ever. And we won't let you undersell yourself: rates can't go below the national minimum wage for your age.
Get paid properly
Earnings go straight to your bank through Stripe after every sit. Tips are 100% yours, and parents pay our small fee on top - it never comes out of your rate.
Paid for every minute
The clock runs from the moment you tap Start to the moment you tap End, not from whatever was pencilled in. Parents back fifteen minutes late? That's fifteen minutes paid, at your rate, without anyone having to mention it.
What it costs you: nothing. Joining is free, there's no subscription, and the only fee on Sit&Co is paid by the family, on top of your rate.

Set your travel area on a map and your weekly availability once - we only offer you sits that fit both. A confirmed booking blocks its slot automatically, so you can never be double-booked.
"No thanks" is one tap
Decline any request with a tap and an optional reason - no invented excuses, no awkward text to write. It costs you nothing and never goes on your record, and a request you'd rather not answer simply expires.
Know who you're saying yes to
Every request shows the family's form - how many sits they've had, how many babysitters went back, whether they cancel last-minute. You decide with the facts in front of you.
Cancelled on at the last minute? We've got your back
If a family calls off a confirmed sit less than 12 hours before the start, we invite them to send you a goodwill compensation payment - suggested at a full hour at your rate, as a thank-you for keeping the evening free. And every last-minute cancellation shows on their record, so the next sitter knows too.
Bring the families you already sit for
Once you're approved you get a personal booking link and QR code. Hand it to the families you already babysit for: they join in a couple of minutes, book you straight away, and you keep your whole rate - or print a sheet of QR cards and post them through doors on your street.

Name a parent or guardian in your application. We email them a link to confirm, and once they have you can take bookings like any other sitter.

They hear about every sit
Every time you accept, we email them the date, the times and a private link to the address that expires after the sit - again when you start and finish, and straight away if it's cancelled. Never the children's names or details.

Payouts, with a hand
Stripe doesn't let anyone under 18 hold the payout account, so the parent or guardian who confirmed for you may need to hold it. The money is still yours.

Over 18? Same thing, your choice
Add a trusted contact - a parent, partner or flatmate - and they get the same updates once they've confirmed. Optional, and yours to add or remove.

How do I get paid?
Straight to your bank account through Stripe once the family pays - which happens when they confirm the sit, or automatically 24 hours after you end it. You connect your bank once, in a few minutes, and Sit&Co never sees your account number. Your payouts page shows every sit, tip and total.

What does Sit&Co cost me?
Nothing. Joining is free and there's no subscription. When a sit happens, the family pays your rate plus our fee on top - the fee never comes out of your rate, and tips are yours in full.

Can I babysit if I'm under 18?
Yes, from 15. Name a parent or guardian in your application; we email them a link to confirm, and once they have you can take bookings like any other sitter. They may also need to help set up payouts, because Stripe doesn't let under-18s hold the payout account.

What's in the application, and what do you check?
Your details, a photo, your babysitting experience, your rate, how far you'll travel and your usual hours. References are optional. Every application is approved before it can appear in search - a filter, not a vetting service: we don't run DBS checks, and we tell families so.

Do I have to live in a town you've opened?
No. We open to families one town at a time, but sitters can apply from anywhere in the country - and you can be found and booked by any family within the travel distance you set, whether or not their town is on our map yet.

I already babysit for local families - can I bring them?
Yes - it's built for exactly that. Once you're approved, your profile gives you a personal booking link and QR code. Families you already sit for open it, join in a couple of minutes and can book you straight away - and you keep your whole hourly rate, same as any booking.

What if a family cancels on me?
Cancelling is free for both sides before the sit starts. If a family cancels a confirmed sit less than 12 hours before it, that shows on their record and we invite them to send you a goodwill payment - suggested at an hour at your rate, and 100% yours. See the cancellation policy for the details.

What do families see about me?
Your first name, photo, rate, experience, skills, how many sits you've done, your would-book-again tally and anonymised reviews. Never your surname, address or contact details - a family gets your number only once you've accepted their booking.

Can I say no to a request?
Always, with one tap and an optional reason. It never goes on your record, and a request you don't answer simply expires after 24 hours with nothing counted against you.
